For travel to be considered package travel, the travel must meet these requirements:

• The travel consists of at least two different travel services. A travel service can be transportation, lodging, hire care or various kinds of events.

• The travel takes at least 24 hours and includes one overnight stay.

• The two different travel services have been put together in a package and are sold by a company.

Package travel can consist of several different agreements

If you enter several different agreements on travel services, it may be package travel if any of the following requirements are met.

• The various travel services were chosen and paid for at the same sales point/website, but provided by two different companies. Example: You book a hotel and transportation from two different companies, but pay for both of the services at the same time at the same place.

• The travel services have been sold, offered or charged at a joint price for several travel services.

• The travel services have been marketed as a package holiday or a similar holiday, such as a charter journey or all-inclusive holiday.

• The travel services were put together after the company and the traveller entered an agreement that gives the traveller the right to choose from among a selection of services. This can, for example, be a present box with different optional travel services or a hotel with spa treatments where the traveller chooses treatments once there at the hotel.

• The travel services were purchased on the Internet by separate business operators, where the first company (the travel operator) transferred information on the traveller’s name, email address and payment information to another company with which the traveller books another travel service within 24 hours of the first agreement being reached.

Brief information about the Package Tours Act

The Package Tours Act provides you, among other things, protection against changes that the package travel operator makes before or during travel. The law also protects you even if the trip is cancelled.
